Urban Coincidence is a recurring poster campaign featuring photographs taken by members of the community that capture something unusual, out of place, serendipitous, or thought-provoking hidden within the everyday. Images reflect local livelihood and something unique amid regular routine. Photographs need not be formal or “professional” and can be taken on any type of device – phone, film, digital, or other. Each iteration of the campaign reveals new ways in which photography can amplify both the sensitivities and mundanity of daily life as well as disrupt the inundation of commercial advertisements by offering moments of reflection in their place.
